Biography
Martin M. Goldsmith was an American screenwriter and novelist. Born in New York City on 6 November 1913, he wrote several B-movies and contributed stories to television series including The Twilight Zone in 1964.
His best-known work includes the screenplay for Detour (1945), adapted from his own 1939 novel, and the story for The Narrow Margin (1952), which earned an Academy Award nomination. He also wrote episodes of Playhouse 90 and other series, and published novels such as Double Jeopardy (1938) and Shadows at Noon (1943).
Goldsmith was at one time the brother-in-law of actor Anthony Quinn. He died in Sherman Oaks, California, on 24 May 1994.
