Biography
Martin Kosleck (born Nicolaie Yoshkin, also credited as Martin Koslek and Nikolai Yoshkin) was a German actor. Born on 24 March 1904 in Barkotzen, Province of Pomerania (now Barkocin, Poland), he trained at the Max Reinhardt Dramatic School in Berlin and began his career on stage and in German films in the late 1920s.
After leaving Germany following the Nazi rise to power, Kosleck worked in Hollywood from the late 1930s. He appeared in more than 80 films and television productions through 1980, frequently portraying Nazi officials including Joseph Goebbels on five occasions. His film credits include the Tramp in Foreign Correspondent (1940), Wilke in Morituri (1965) and Mirko in Pursuit to Algiers (1945). Television roles encompass Professor Charm in Batman (1966), Dr Drago in Get Smart (1965) and General in Mission: Impossible (1966).
Kosleck died on 15 January 1994 in Santa Monica, California.
