Biography

Martin McGrath is an Australian cinematographer and member of the Australian Cinematographers Society. He trained at RMIT and began his feature career as director of photography on Proof (1991), directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse.

McGrath shot Muriel's Wedding (1994), directed by P. J. Hogan. His other credits include Ride Like a Girl (2019), Young Rock (2021–2023) and Five Blind Dates (2024). He won an AFI Award for Passion (1999) and has received multiple AFI/AACTA and ACS nominations. He is married to actress Heather Mitchell.
