Biography
Martine Marignac was a French film producer. Born in Paris in 1946, she began working in cinema in the 1970s as a press attaché before moving into production in the early 1980s.
She founded the production company La Cecilia and later Pierre Grise Productions in 1987, which she co-directed with Maurice Tinchant. Marignac produced films by directors including Jacques Rivette, Jean-Luc Godard, Otar Iosseliani, Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet, and Leos Carax. Her credits include La Belle Noiseuse (1991), Dangerous Moves (1984) and Holy Motors (2012). She received the Raimondo Rezzonico prize for best independent producer at the Locarno Film Festival in 2009 and was appointed Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 2015. Marignac died in Paris in 2022.
