Biography
Mary Grant was a costume designer who worked in theatre and film. Born on 20 February 1917 in Broad Haven, Pembrokeshire, Wales, she began her career on Broadway in the 1930s as an assistant to designers including Raoul Pene Du Bois and Miles White. She later designed costumes for productions such as Mexican Hayride (1944), Seven Lively Arts (1944) and Oklahoma!.
From the mid-1940s she designed for Hollywood films, including We're No Angels (1955), Sweet Smell of Success (1957), Separate Tables (1958) and The Devil's Disciple (1959). She was married to actor Vincent Price from 1949 until their divorce in 1973. Grant died on 2 March 2002 in Boston, Massachusetts.
