Biography

Mary Husband was a British costume designer. She contributed to the BBC series Doctor Who in 1972, credited on four episodes including Day of the Daleks. Other early credits include the sitcom Open All Hours (1976).

Husband worked extensively on BBC comedy programmes, serving as costume designer on The Two Ronnies (1973–1987, 57 episodes), You Rang, M'Lord? (1988–1993), Hi-de-Hi! and Oh Doctor Beeching! (1995–1997). She was born in Runcorn, Cheshire, in 1934 and died on 5 June 2025. She had a long-term relationship with writer Jimmy Perry.
