Biography
Mary Philips, also credited as Mary Phillips, was an American stage and film actress. Born in New London, Connecticut, she made her Broadway debut as a chorus girl and appeared in numerous stage productions, including The Postman Always Rings Twice (1936) and Chicken Every Sunday (1944).
Her film roles included Helen Ferguson in A Farewell to Arms (1932), Mrs Berent in Leave Her to Heaven (1945), Mrs Mary Fowler in A Woman's Secret (1949) and the Queen in Prince Valiant (1954). She was married to actors Humphrey Bogart from 1928 to 1937 and Kenneth MacKenna from 1938 until his death in 1962.
