Biography
Masayoshi Haneda (羽田昌義) is a Japanese film and stage actor born on 13 November 1976 in Chiyoda, Tokyo. He trained at the United Performers' Studio (UPS Academy) in Tokyo from 1999 to 2000 under Yoko Narahashi and later took workshops with teachers from the Actors Studio in New York. His early work included stage plays and a stunt role on The Last Samurai (2003).
Haneda has appeared in supporting roles in international productions including Takahashi in Emperor (2012), Yasuno in 47 Ronin (2013) and Takeda in Edge of Tomorrow (2014). He is also known for playing Tanaka in the television series Westworld (2016) and for roles in Minamata (2020), Age of Samurai: Battle for Japan (2021), Tokyo Vice (2022) and Canary Black (2024).
