Biography

Masayuki Mori is a Japanese film producer. Born on 7 January 1953 in Tottori Prefecture, he graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University in 1976. He began his career at the television production company Super Produce Inc., where he directed programmes including several featuring Takeshi Kitano.

In 1988 Mori was a key figure in the establishment of Office Kitano, the production company founded by Kitano. He served as its president from 1992 and has produced or executive-produced numerous Kitano films, including Sonatine (1993), Kids Return (1996), Fireworks (1997), Kikujiro (1999), Brother (2000), Dolls (2002) and Zatoichi (2003).
