Biography
Masayuki Yui is a Japanese actor born on 21 September 1947 in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture. He is also a writer and producer.
Yui is known for his collaborations with director Akira Kurosawa, appearing as Ieyasu Tokugawa in Kagemusha (1980), Tango Hirayama in Ran (1985), a member of the climbing team in Dreams (1990) and Kiriyama in Madadayo (1993). His other credits include Captain Noguchi in To End All Wars (2001). He has worked as a writer on Kurosawa-related projects.
