Biography

Massimo Serato was an Italian film actor. Born Giuseppe Segato on 31 May 1917 in Oderzo, Veneto, he began appearing in films in 1938 and worked regularly until his death on 22 December 1989 in Rome.

He appeared in historical dramas and international productions, including El Cid (1961) as Fanez, 55 Days at Peking (1963) as Garibaldi, The 10th Victim (1965) as Lawyer Rossi and Don't Look Now (1973) as Bishop Barbarrigo. In 1947 he received the Nastro d'Argento for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the neorealist war drama The Sun Still Rises.
