Biography

Mat Whitecross is an English film director, editor and screenwriter. He began his career at Revolution Films working with Michael Winterbottom and Andrew Eaton.

Whitecross edited 9 Songs (2004) and co-edited Scott Walker: 30 Century Man (2006) with Grant Gee. He co-directed and co-wrote The Road to Guantánamo (2006) with Winterbottom, which won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin International Film Festival. Subsequent directing credits include Moving to Mars (2009), The Shock Doctrine (2009, co-directed with Winterbottom), Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (2010), Oasis: Supersonic (2016) and Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams (2018).
