Biography

Mathieu Vadepied is a French cinematographer, art director and director. He was born on 25 May 1963 in Paris.

He served as director of photography and art director on The Intouchables (2011). Vadepied has directed the feature films La vie en grand (2015) and Father & Soldier (2022, also known as Tirailleurs), the latter co-written with Olivier Demangel. He has also directed episodes of the series In Treatment (2021) and several shorts, including Le souffle (2005).

Earlier in his career he worked as a camera assistant and on music videos, and collaborated as cinematographer with directors including Jacques Audiard on Read My Lips (2001).
