Biography
Matias Varela is a Swedish actor. Born Louis Matias Karl Padin Varela on 23 June 1980 in Stockholm, he is of Galician Spanish descent.
He made his screen debut in the Swedish soap opera Nya tider (2000–2001). After a decade away from acting, during which he worked in construction, Varela returned with the role of Jorge Salinas Barrio in the Easy Money (Snabba Cash) film trilogy (2010–2013), receiving Guldbagge nominations for the second and third films.
Internationally, he is known for playing Jorge Salcedo in season three of the Netflix series Narcos (2017). Other credits include The Borgias (2013), Point Break (2015), Assassin's Creed (2016), 438 Days (2019), Raised by Wolves (2020) and Hierro (2019).
