Biography
Matt Clark (1936–2026) was an American actor. He appeared in numerous Western films and other character roles across film and television from the 1960s to the 2010s.
Born in Washington, D.C., Clark served in the U.S. Army and attended George Washington University before dropping out. He joined a local theatre group, became a member of New York’s Living Theatre company and worked in off-Broadway productions in the late 1950s.
His credits include the bartender in Back to the Future Part III (1990) and the old prospector in A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014). Other film roles were in In the Heat of the Night (1967), Jeremiah Johnson (1972), The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976), Return to Oz (1985) and 42 (2013). Clark also directed the 1988 feature Da.
