Biography
Matthew Faughnan is an American animation director. He has directed episodes of the animated series The Simpsons since 2006, with credits including 'Stop! Or My Dog Will Shoot!', 'Treehouse of Horror XVII' (co-directed with David Silverman), 'Loan-a Lisa', 'Labor Pains', 'Treehouse of Horror XXV', 'Podcast News', 'Habeas Tortoise', 'Iron Marge', 'The Yellow Lotus', 'O C'mon All Ye Faithful' and 'Yellow Mirror'.
Prior to directing, Faughnan worked on the series as an assistant director, character layout artist and storyboard artist. He received a Primetime Emmy Award in 2003 as assistant director for the episode 'Three Gays of the Condo' and has received further Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Animated Program category.
