Biography
Matthew Miller is a Canadian screenwriter, producer and director. He studied at York University and began his career with short films such as The School (2003), which screened at numerous international festivals. He is a contractual university lecturer and has collaborated extensively with filmmaker Matt Johnson through their production company Zapruder Films.
Miller produced The Dirties (2013) and Operation Avalanche (2016), and co-wrote the screenplay for BlackBerry (2023) with Johnson. The film premiered in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival and won multiple Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Motion Picture. He also co-wrote and produced Tony (2026) for A24, and has produced Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie (2025) and Mile End Kicks (2025).
