Biography
Matthew Montoya is an American television writer and producer. He holds an MFA in Writing for Screen & Television from the University of Southern California and a BA in Literature with emphasis in Creative Writing from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
He worked as a writers' assistant and staff writer on the CBS series The Good Wife (2009), contributing story, teleplay and written-by credits across seasons three to five. He later wrote two episodes of the Apple TV+ series Truth Be Told (2019). Montoya is a three-time Writers Guild of America Award nominee for Best Drama Series as part of the The Good Wife writing staff.
He has taught screenwriting at California State University, Long Beach, and previously at Pasadena City College and the University of Southern California.
