Biography
Max Hug Williams is a cinematographer specialising in natural history and wildlife documentaries. He holds an MSc in Behavioural Ecology and a BSc (Hons) in Zoology. After working as a camera assistant to director of photography Chris Openshaw, he was selected for the BBC Natural History Unit camera bursary.
His credits include Planet Earth II (2016), for which he filmed sequences on islands, Seven Worlds One Planet (2019), the Asia series (2024), Wild Arabia (2013) and Life in Colour (2021). He has contributed to numerous other BBC productions such as Operation Snow Tiger (2013) and Human Planet (2011), as well as Disney Nature projects. Williams has received Emmy and BAFTA nominations for cinematography.
