Biography
Maya Daisy Hawke is a documentary editor. She has edited feature documentaries including Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010), Janis: Little Girl Blue (2015), Navalny (2022) and Sugarcane (2024). She worked as assistant editor on eight films directed by Werner Herzog, among them Grizzly Man (2005) and The White Diamond (2004).
Hawke has also served as supervising editor on films such as Joonam (2023) and A Photographic Memory (2024), and as consulting editor on Black Box Diaries (2024). She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and has advised at multiple Sundance Institute labs. She is from Christchurch, New Zealand, and is based in London.
