Biography

Me Me Lai, sometimes billed as Me Me Lay or Meme Lay, is a Burmese-British actress and television host. She was born on 3 November 1951 in Burma to a Burmese mother and an English father, and moved to England in her teens.

She began her acting career in British television series such as Paul Temple (1970) and appeared in films including Crucible of Terror (1971) and Au Pair Girls (1972). She is known for lead roles in Italian cannibal films such as Man from Deep River (1972), Last Cannibal World (1977) and Eaten Alive! (1980), as well as a part in Revenge of the Pink Panther (1978). She also co-hosted British game shows including The Golden Shot and Sale of the Century.

Her final film role was as Kim in Lars von Trier's The Element of Crime (1984). She later joined the Essex police force.
