Biography
Megan Abbott is an American author and screenwriter. She has written numerous crime fiction novels, including Dare Me (2012) and You Will Know Me (2016), and won an Edgar Award in 2008.
Abbott served as a staff writer and story editor on the HBO series The Deuce (2017–2018). She later adapted her novel Dare Me for television, acting as co-showrunner and executive producer on the 2019–2020 USA Network series.
Born in the Detroit area in 1971, Abbott graduated from the University of Michigan and holds a PhD in English and American literature from New York University. She has also written for publications including the Los Angeles Times and The New York Times.
