Meghann Fahy can make a sunny manner look suspicious without losing its warmth. She is especially good when the comedy lets a little hurt through, as it does with her exasperated Devon DeWitt in Sirens.

Meghann Fahy gives the swearing in Sirens (2025) the force of an objection nobody else wants to hear. As Devon DeWitt, she sounds impatient with the rules of wealthy company and with everyone’s willingness to observe them. We laughed at the profanity because Fahy puts such exasperation behind it, making the outburst feel earned rather than supplied for a laugh. There is hurt there too, enough to make us interested in Devon after the joke has landed.
As Sutton Brady in The Bold Type (2017–2021), alongside Aisha Dee and Katie Stevens, Fahy had five seasons to develop her comic timing. Daphne Sullivan in the second series of The White Lotus (2022) brought wider critical recognition. Here her sunny manner could conceal calculation, with small shifts suggesting more than the character initially let on. A feature lead as Violet in Drop (2025) put her at the centre of a thriller.
Sirens puts her opposite Julianne Moore and Milly Alcock, and she is the chief pleasure of an enjoyable, uneven series. Her bluntness makes it harder to accept the wealthy eccentrics as harmless comic company. The risk with this sort of part is that the actor becomes a convenient spokesperson, saying what the audience has already decided about the rich. Fahy gives Devon enough pain of her own to make her anger personal, rather than simply a way of delivering the programme’s jokes.
We would not claim that she solves everything around her. The rich characters in Sirens are familiar and its changes of tone can be clumsy, however well Fahy handles Devon’s humour and hurt. What earns our interest is the strained relationship between the sisters, which gives her more to play than simple disgust at other people’s money. Start with Sirens, but do not expect the series to be as consistently good as she is.

Meghann Alexandra Fahy is an American actress. She was born on 25 April 1990 in Longmeadow, Massachusetts.
Fahy began her career with a prominent role as Hannah O'Connor on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live (2010–2012) and made her Broadway debut in the musical Next to Normal (2010–2011). She starred as Sutton Brady in the Freeform series The Bold Type (2017–2021).
She received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Daphne Sullivan in the second season of The White Lotus (2022). Fahy stars as Devon DeWitt in the Netflix series Sirens (2025) and has appeared in films including Miss Sloane (2016), Those People (2015) and Drop (2025).
