Biography
Mekel Bailey is a British costume designer working in film, television, commercials and branded content. He began his career in celebrity styling and fashion before moving into costume design for screen.
Bailey is best known for his work on the Netflix series Baby Reindeer (2024), for which he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Contemporary Costumes for a Limited or Anthology Series and a Costume Designers Guild Award nomination. He has since designed costumes for the Netflix and STV series The Witness (2026) and is designing the BBC One series Wahala.
His other credits include the short films Chairs (2023) and Lotus (2024), the feature Sumotherhood (2023), and earlier television work on The Mind of Herbert Clunkerdunk. He has received three British Arrows Craft Award nominations for his commercial work.
