Biography
Melinda M. Snodgrass is an American science fiction writer for print and television. Born on 27 November 1951 in Los Angeles, California, she grew up in New Mexico, studied voice in Vienna, and holds degrees in history and law from the University of New Mexico. She practised law for three years before turning to writing.
She wrote several episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), including 'The Measure of a Man' (1989), 'Pen Pals' (1989), 'Up the Long Ladder' (1989), 'The Ensigns of Command' (1989) and 'The High Ground' (1990). She served as story editor on the second season and executive script consultant on the third season. Her other television credits include episodes of Sliders (1995), The Outer Limits (1995) and seaQuest DSV (1993), and she was a consulting producer on Profiler (1996).
Snodgrass is co-editor with George R. R. Martin of the long-running Wild Cards shared-world anthology series and has written novels including the Circuit trilogy and the Edge series.
