Biography
Melissa Suzanne McBride is an American actress born on 23 May 1965 in Lexington, Kentucky. She began her career in the early 1990s with television commercials in Atlanta and made her series debut in an episode of Matlock (1993). She later appeared in guest roles on series including Walker, Texas Ranger (1997) and Dawson's Creek (1998), and in the film The Mist (2007). She previously worked as a casting director.
McBride is best known for portraying Carol Peletier in the AMC series The Walking Dead (2010–2022). Initially cast in a minor role, her character became a series regular from the second season and she appeared in every season. She has continued the role in the spin-off The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (2023–present). She has received Saturn Awards and other nominations for the performance.
