Biography
Melissa McCoy is an American film and television editor. Born on 27 January 1980 in Lansing, Michigan, she earned an MFA in film production with an editing emphasis from Chapman University Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in 2007. She completed an internship with the American Cinema Editors during her studies.
After early work as an assistant editor on series including CSI, she moved into editing on comedies such as Undateable, Life Sentence and Whiskey Cavalier. McCoy edited the pilot of Ted Lasso (2020) and multiple episodes across its seasons; she has also edited episodes of Rush Hour (2016), Grace and Frankie, Stick (2025) and Elle (2026). She has received three Primetime Emmy nominations for her work on Ted Lasso and won an American Cinema Editors Eddie Award.
