Biography

Michael Bittins is a German film producer and production manager. Born in 1941, he is the son of producer and production manager Alfred Bittins. He entered the industry in 1960 as a production assistant on the television series Es ist soweit and worked regularly as a production manager from the mid-1960s, including on Raumpatrouille (1965) and Deep End (1970).

Bittins collaborated several times with director Wolfgang Petersen, serving as production manager or co-producer on Vier gegen die Bank (1976), Schwarz und weiß wie Tage und Nächte (1978) and Das Boot (1981). He also produced feature films such as Tausend Augen (1984), Der Sommer des Samurai (1986) and Der Madonna-Mann (1987). He has been inactive in film since the late 1990s.
