Biography
Michael Brandt is an American screenwriter. Born on 1 October 1968 in Madison, Wisconsin, he studied at Baylor University, where he met frequent collaborator Derek Haas. He began his career working as an assistant editor for Robert Rodriguez.
Brandt and Haas wrote the story and screenplay for 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003). Their subsequent film credits include the screenplay for 3:10 to Yuma (2007) and Wanted (2008). Brandt also wrote the screenplay for Arthur the King (2024) and made his directorial debut with The Double (2011).
On television, Brandt is the co-creator of Chicago Fire (2012) and a developer and writer on Chicago P.D. (2014).
