Biography

Michael Conner Humphreys is an American actor. Born on 1 March 1985 in Independence, Mississippi, he was selected at the age of eight for the role of young Forrest Gump in the 1994 film Forrest Gump following an open casting call in Memphis, Tennessee. Tom Hanks emulated Humphreys's Southern accent and mannerisms for the adult character.

Humphreys received a nomination for a Young Artist Award for the performance. He enlisted in the US Army in 2004 and served four years as an infantryman, including an 18-month deployment to Iraq. His later screen credits include the 2011 film Pathfinders: In the Company of Strangers and a self appearance in the 2019 series The Movies That Made Us.
