Biography
Michael Denison was an English actor. Born John Michael Terence Wellesley Denison in Doncaster, Yorkshire, in 1915, he was educated at Harrow School and Magdalen College, Oxford, before training at the Webber Douglas School of Dramatic Art in London, where he met actress Dulcie Gray. They married in 1939 and appeared together in numerous stage productions and several films.
Denison served in the Royal Intelligence Corps during the Second World War. He maintained a long career in the theatre, performing in more than 100 West End shows, and acted in films such as The Importance of Being Earnest (1952), in which he played Algernon Moncrieff, and Shadowlands (1993), in which he played Harry Harrington. He was also known for the title role in the television series Boyd QC (1956–1964). He died in 1998.
