Biography
Michael Gibbs is a composer, conductor, arranger and producer. Born on 25 September 1937 in Harare, Zimbabwe (then Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia), he studied at the Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory in the United States before settling in England.
He is known for his film scores, including Hard Boiled (1992), Being Human (1994), Close My Eyes (1991), Whore (1991) and Housekeeping (1987). Gibbs also served as musical director for the BBC television series The Goodies from 1970 to 1974 and has worked as an arranger and producer with artists including Gary Burton, Joni Mitchell and Pat Metheny.
