Biography
Michael J. Leeson (1947–2016) was an American screenwriter and television producer. He began writing for episodic television in the early 1970s, contributing to series including Love, American Style, All in the Family, The Partridge Family, The Odd Couple, Happy Days, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Phyllis and Rhoda.
Leeson wrote multiple episodes of Taxi (1978–1980) and received Emmy Awards for his work on the series and on The Cosby Show (1984), which he co-created. His screenplays include The Survivors (1983), The War of the Roses (1989), I.Q. (1994), What Planet Are You From? (2000) and The Tuxedo (2002). He also created the series Grand and The Bill Engvall Show.
