Biography
Michael Kane (1922–2020) was an American screenwriter and director. He wrote the screenplay for the 1981 film Southern Comfort, directed by Walter Hill, in collaboration with Hill and David Giler.
His other screenwriting credits include Hot Stuff (1979), the story for Smokey and the Bandit II (1980), All the Right Moves (1983), The Legend of the Lone Ranger (1981) and The Bear (1984). He also directed episodes of television series including Gilligan's Island (1967) and The Brady Bunch (1974).
