Biography
Michael Loceff is an American television writer and producer. He is the cousin of 24 co-creator Joel Surnow. He began his television career as a writer and story editor on the series La Femme Nikita (1997), contributing to multiple episodes across its run.
Loceff joined 24 (2001) as a writer and co-producer for its first season. He wrote numerous episodes, often in collaboration with Surnow, and advanced through producing roles to co-executive producer. He remained with the series for six and a half seasons until the 2007–08 writers' strike. As part of the producing team, he shared a 2006 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series.
Loceff trained as a mathematician and computer scientist. He taught computer science at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California, for many years and later retired. He also contributed to 24: India (2013).
