Biography
Michael Luciano (2 May 1909 – 15 September 1992) was an American film and television editor. He had around forty feature film credits and additional work in television. Early in his career he assisted on films including Body and Soul (1947).
From 1954 to 1977 Luciano edited nearly all of the twenty films directed by Robert Aldrich. Their collaboration began with World for Ransom (1954) and included Kiss Me Deadly (1955), What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962), Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964), The Flight of the Phoenix (1965), The Dirty Dozen (1967) and The Longest Yard (1974). He received four Academy Award nominations for Best Film Editing for his work with Aldrich.
Luciano's later credits included Stripes (1981) and, as supervising editor and associate producer, Kidnapped (1987).
