Biography

Michael Miner is an American screenwriter and director. He co-wrote the screenplay for the 1987 science fiction film RoboCop with Edward Neumeier. He received a Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Screenplay for the film and was nominated for an Edgar Award by the Mystery Writers of America.

Miner earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Theater and a Master of Fine Arts at the University of California, Los Angeles. His other writing credits include the screenplay for Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004) and the story for Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace (1996). He co-wrote the pilot for the television series RoboCop (1994) and has contributed characters to later entries in the franchise. Miner has also directed the films Deadly Weapon (1989) and The Book of Stars (1999).
