Biography
Michael Short is a Canadian writer and producer. He wrote for the sketch comedy series SCTV Network (1981–1983) and its follow-up SCTV Channel (1983–1984), winning two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing in a Variety or Music Program.
Short created the series Maniac Mansion (1990–1993) and has written for other programmes including Blue Collar TV and The Jane Show. He contributed as a writer and co-executive producer on Schitt's Creek (2015–2020), which earned him a further Primetime Emmy as part of the production team. He has also written for films such as Speed Zone (1989) and Jiminy Glick in Lalawood (2005), and frequently collaborates with his brother Martin Short.
