Biography
Michael Sloan was an American television writer and producer. Born in New York City on 14 October 1946, he began his career in England, where he wrote and produced early films before returning to the United States in the mid-1970s.
He wrote the Columbo episode 'Now You See Him' (1976), the series' only freelance script, and contributed to programmes including McCloud, Quincy, M.E., Battlestar Galactica and The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries. He co-created the original The Equalizer series with Richard Lindheim, which aired on CBS from 1985 to 1989, and later worked on related films and the 2021 reboot. Sloan received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series for his work on Quincy, M.E.
Sloan was married to actress Melissa Sue Anderson from 1990 until his death on 13 August 2025 in New York City. They had two children.
