Biography
Michael Uwemedimo is a film producer and lecturer in film studies at Roehampton University, where he has taught since 2005. As a founding member of the filmmaking collaboration Vision Machine, he produced the documentary The Act of Killing (2012). He also worked as associate producer on Erase and Forget (2017) and as producer on an episode of the series P.O.V. (2014).
Uwemedimo is cofounder and director of the Collaborative Media Advocacy Platform (CMAP) and cofounder and project director of the Human City Project, a media and human rights initiative in Nigeria. He has curated programmes at the National Film Theatre, Tate Modern, the Architectural Association and the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, and has sat on international film festival juries. His publications include contributions to Killer Images: Documentary Film, Memory and the Performance of Violence.
