Biography
Michael Z. Hanan is an American production designer. He studied at UCLA and entered the film industry in the early 1980s through visual effects work, later serving as art director on projects including the 1985 television production The Hugga Bunch, for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award.
Hanan became a production designer on the television series Miami Vice. He collaborated extensively with director John Frankenheimer on films and television projects including Against the Wall, The Burning Season, Andersonville, George Wallace and Ronin (1998), for which he also worked as second unit director on some earlier titles. His feature film credits as production designer include Pet Sematary (1989), Blow (2001) and The Punisher (2004).
