Biography
Michel Auclair (born Vladimir Vujović; 14 September 1922 – 7 January 1988) was a French actor of Serbian and French ancestry. He was born in Koblenz, Germany, to a Serbian father and French mother, and moved to Paris at the age of three. He studied acting at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique (CNSAD) after briefly attending medical school.
Auclair appeared in numerous French films from the mid-1940s onwards. He is known for roles including Ludovic in Beauty and the Beast (1946), Professor Emile Flostre in Funny Face (1957), Colonel Rolland in The Day of the Jackal (1973), and parts in The Married Couple of the Year Two (1971) and A Thousand Billion Dollars (1982). His only two English-language film roles were in Funny Face and The Day of the Jackal.
