Biography
Mie Hama is a Japanese actress. Born in Tokyo on 20 November 1943, she began her career after being spotted while working as a bus conductor and was signed to Toho Studios. By the mid-1960s she had appeared in more than sixty films, including King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962) as Fumiko Sakurai and King Kong Escapes (1967) as Madame Piranha.
She is best known internationally for playing Kissy Suzuki in the James Bond film You Only Live Twice (1967). Originally cast in another role, she swapped parts with Akiko Wakabayashi. Hama later worked as a television and radio presenter and author.
