Biography
Mike B. Anderson, sometimes credited as Mikel B. Anderson, is an American animation director. He has worked on the animated series The Simpsons since 1990, initially as a background artist and later as a director and supervising director. He has directed numerous episodes of the show and served as sequence director on The Simpsons Movie (2007). He was also supervising director for the theme park attraction The Simpsons Ride.
Before joining The Simpsons, Anderson directed the live-action feature films Alone in the T-Shirt Zone (1986) and Kamillions (1990) while a student. He has contributed to other animated projects including as consulting producer on The Oblongs and story consultant on Tripping the Rift.
Anderson won Primetime Emmy Awards for directing the Simpsons episodes "Homer's Phobia" (1997) and "HOMR" (2001). For the former he also received an Annie Award for Best Individual Achievement: Directing in a TV Production.
