Biography

Mike Clarke (born Michael James Dick) was an American musician and occasional actor. He was the drummer in the original lineup of the Byrds from 1964 to 1968, and later played with the Flying Burrito Brothers from 1969 to 1972 and with Firefall from 1974 to 1980.

Clarke appeared as himself, credited as a member of the Flying Burrito Brothers, in the 1970 documentary film Gimme Shelter. He received additional screen credits in later music documentaries and concert films. Clarke was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Byrds in 1991. He died in 1993.
