Biography
Mike O'Neill (1945–2018) was a British costume designer for film and television. He began his career in theatre with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 1960s before moving into screen work, including Roman Polanski's 1971 film Macbeth.
O'Neill's credits include the series Hamish Macbeth (1995), North & South (2004) and the film The Damned United (2009). He often collaborated with his wife and design partner Samantha Horn; their work on the 2005 miniseries Elizabeth I won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Costumes. Other notable designs encompass Our Mutual Friend (1998), Daniel Deronda (2002) and Charles II: The Power and the Passion (2003), for which he received a BAFTA.
