Biography
Mike Reid was an English actor and comedian. Born Michael Reid on 19 January 1940 in Hackney, London, he began his career as a stand-up comedian before moving into television and film roles.
He is best known for playing Frank Butcher in the BBC soap opera EastEnders from 1987 to 2005, with several returns, and for his appearance as Doug The Head in the 2000 film Snatch. He also hosted the children's game show Runaround and appeared in other productions including The Dirty Dozen (1967).
Reid died on 29 July 2007 in Marbella, Spain.
