Biography
Mike Rich is an American screenwriter. Born in 1959 in Enterprise, Oregon, he attended Oregon State University and began his career in radio as a news reporter and director at KINK-FM in Portland.
Rich won the Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting in 1998 for his first screenplay, Finding Forrester (2000), directed by Gus Van Sant and starring Sean Connery. He is known for writing sports-themed films including The Rookie (2002), Radio (2003) and Secretariat (2010), as well as the screenplay for Cars 3 (2017).
