Biography
Mike Shields is a Canadian composer of film and television scores. He began his career as a singer and songwriter, releasing two albums that included songs which charted in Canada, before moving into scoring for film and television.
He is known for his work on the films Ginger Snaps (2000) and Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2010), as well as the television series Blackstone (2009–2015), Sonic Prime (2022–2024) and Fireman Sam (2002–present). He has scored more than twenty feature films and numerous television series, shorts and animated programmes.
Shields has received several awards for his scores, including a Gemini Award.
