Biography
Mikel Cee Karlsson is a Swedish film director, editor, writer and cinematographer. Born in Varberg in 1977, he graduated from the School of Photography and Film at Gothenburg University in 2005. He is a co-owner of the production company Plattform Produktion alongside Ruben Östlund and Erik Hemmendorff.
Karlsson has directed four feature-length documentaries: Greetings from the Woods (2009), The Extraordinary Ordinary Life of José González (2010), Fraemling (2019) and A Tiger in Paradise (2023). He edited Triangle of Sadness (2022), on which he also served as second unit director, and has directed numerous music videos for artists including Fever Ray, José González and Junip. He previously worked as a skateboarder, photographer and filmmaker.
